The Projects

Three 2015 Projects in Support of Entrepreneurial Agroforestry

FarmTreeServices with Oxfam designed and carried out three projects in Senegal, Niger and Mali in support of Entrepreneurial Agroforestry. They organised women groups and worked with local governments to access land and establish Agroforestry-horticulture gardens. Local partners collected data and developed different Regional Data Pools, and when the FarmTree®Tool became available, they developed business plans for in total 56ha and 1500 producers. By early 2016, about half of them have been financed. In Niger and Senegal, we trained youth and women farmers on entrepreneurial Agroforestry and the use of the FarmTree®Tool.

In French the projects were called Projets d’Appui à l’Agroforesterie Entrepreneuriale or PAAFE. The three projects were called PAAFE-Senegal (with local partners Experna and SY-AFD), PAAFE-Mali (with Stop Sahel) and PAAFE-Niger (with Partners for Innovation Niger). FTS compiled all project reports into a single PAAFE-2015 report which can be downloaded below.
