Addressing barriers

Agroforestry Business Plans are useful instruments for an entrepreneurial producer, but they are no miracles in itself. Particularly in Africa, necessary conditions and services are often not well in place. For example, women farmers in Africa often lack necessary land tenure rights, processing capacity, or access to markets. In such cases FarmTreeServices uses methods such as the Actor-Action Analysis (or the Governance-Outcome Framework) to develop an insightful Intervention Logic for programme development.

For climate-smart agriculture, farmers need both capacities and a conducive environment. Adaptation programmes should address both.
